Literal steps were taken to help find a cure for Lupus.
On Sunday, October 14th, members of Cognitive and our loved ones bundled up and walked in support of those affected by Lupus. We raised money – and our collective heart rate – walking at Calf Pasture Beach in Norwalk.
Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease, meaning the body’s immune system mistakes healthy tissue for foreign invaders such as viruses and bacteria, attacking the healthy tissue. Every year, more than 16,000 new cases of Lupus are reported. The money raised will go towards Lupus research, outreach efforts to bolster public knowledge, and disseminating research information to health professionals.
The walk was followed by a group pizza dinner at Colony Grill, where we effectively reclaimed all the calories we burned and then some.
